    mormonism

A missionary came up to me the other day and tried to get me to go to their church. Apparantly they came from las vegas and came to Canada for more recruiting. The guy who talked to me was super hot so it kind of sparked my interest. I decided to do some research on it.

I don't know why but recently I've had so many encounters with Christians who wants me to join their church. Some of my friends are Christian (Protestant) too and they have been pressuring me as well.

Apparantly Mormonism is a pretty new religion (arguable since some people see them as cult) had a lot of success recruiting people. What are your thoughts?

Lots of people say mormons are crazy. Those same people believe a virgin gave birth to an incestuous love child whose death opened the gates of heaven so we could all live in harmony with a big invisible man in the sky.

If you're interested in mormonism go for it. It's no more bizarre than anything else Christian.

nah...converting is huge step for me. My parents are non-religious and my friends are from a variety of different religion. I dislike how religions advocate exclusiveness. If I was to be Christian then I'm not suppose to marry anyone non-Christian and plus I just found out that my parents aren't even allowed to attend my weddings if I was to convert to Mormonism.

I hate it when people run about trying to 'sell' people their religion. It annoys me to no end. It shows desperation.

I get pissed when these religious assholes try and tell me I need to follow their ****ing path to righteousness. They wouldn't know what the right path was if it were laid out in front of them. I can't believe people still get suckered into swallowing beliefs that some self righteous group of PEOPLE made up. You want God, find him yourself. He doesn't exist in a damn book or a building, or a set of rules.

Ignore Mormon boy. Mormons are even more crazy.

Only convert if you get something cool out of it.

I agree with Bluesummer. If you want to be religious go looking for something that suits you. I really dislike how people constantly pressure you and tell you there way is the right way. Especially on campus, sometimes I just want to grab their signs and smack them upside the head and tell them to get a job.

Personally I think Mormons are pretty crazy, but whatever floats your boat. But would you seriously convert just because of a cute guy? As for Scientology, stay away from that. I've only heard terrible things about it. I would consider it a cult.

One day back when I was in college, there were a bunch of old men spread out around campus, each standing in one location with a box of little green books and handing them out to students.

I was walking to buy some food from the cafeteria, when I saw one old man run up to me and shove a little green book in my hand, saying "This was made for you, especially for you!" I said, "Uh, ok..." and walked away. About a block later, another old man ran after me and tried to give me another book. I said, "I have one already!" A few yards later, another old man ran up to me and tried to give me a book. I said, "No thanks." When I reached the building I was getting to, a louder middle-aged man tried to give me a book and I just shook my head. When I was leaving that building, that middle-aged man tried to give me a book again so instead, I took out the little green book that I got from the first old man and tried to give it to him. He looked at me, said angrily, "Why? You don't want it?!" I just smiled at him and walked away. My sister was walking next to me and said, "Don't you feel bad?" I said, "Nope." The whole afternoon I tried to avoid the old men handing out books.

I was carrying a case of 24 water bottles from the cafeteria to my room. (I bought a bunch because it's almost the end of the semester and I'm using up my food credit.) One of the old men walked up to me and said, "They're making you carry all of that yourself?" I said, "Yeah, want to carry it for me?" He said, "Where are you headed?" My friend said, "Up the street there." He said, "We could get you some help," and started looking around at other students. I just said, "No, it's okay, we're fine, thanks." I was thinking, "Hey if you carry it for me, I'll take one of your green books."

I like Religious people because I like Philosophy. I never understood why one has to choose just one Religion. Why not choose all of them and only follow the good bits of each one?
