Oh, my god. I made acorn squash with this syrupy sauce and it tasted so ridiculously good. Next time I cook for a girl I'm serving that and I guarantee I'll be getting laid all night.

I'd never even had acorn squash before. You all have got to try this. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Take an acorn squash, cut it in half, scoop out the guts, then score the insides with a knife. After that, fill each half with half a tablespoon of butter, a full tablespoon of brown sugar and a teaspoon of maple syrup. Cook for about an hour and fifteen minutes. After that, spread whatever syrup hasn't been absorbed by the squash all over the top. Let it sit for a bit, then serve. You will be in heaven.

i couldn't find just a simple recipe but this one tells you how to cook it. but you could put anything you want in it really. i like to put butter and chili in it. i've never had it with olives and feta and all that. although i bet that'd be good.

Here's a Cali Boy recipe that knocks my socks off:

Cook a flank steak to medium and stick it in the fridge overnight. When it's good and cold, slice it against the grain into 1/8" thick slices. You should end up with pieces about 3" x 1", pretty thin.
Slather these with hoisin sauce, then roll up julienned scallions in them, letting them stick attractively out the sides. (julienne is a long, thin slice).

These become little bite-sized pieces of "**** yeah". Every time we take these to a party, the plate is clean in ten minutes.

I could use some recipes for tofu. Please note that half my house won't eat it if they know it's there, so it must be disguised.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Try cutting it into small cubes in pad thai & putting a block into your cheese mix for lasagna, Vash.

I already mix it in with ricotta cheese for stuffed shells (virtually indetectable). I haven't tried making pad thai... I'll have to look for a recipe. Thanks, indi.

haha! My mom and sisters do that kind of stuff to me to this day..

If they think I won't like something they'll tell me it's something else until after I eat it.

Well? Are their methods effective? It works for me about 75% of the time.

    Always got me.

But these days I'm less picky on what I eat, as long as it's healthy.

    1. Open fridge and retrieve hotpocket.

    2. Stick hotpocket in dirty microwave.

    3. Cook hotpocket as long as your little heart desires.

    4. Sit down at table and stare at it with disappointment.

    5. As little brother walks out of his room, chuck it at his head.

Your appetite will not only be satiated, but you won't be rubbing your face with cow spooge. AND you will lose weight in such a comedic way.

pad thai is so ****ing hard to make.

here's a little quick vegetarian recipe a la sombra:

a box or bag of pasta. i like to use penne.
    two portabello mushrooms
    a few cloves of garlic
ten or so fresh basil leaves
    olive oil and butter
    salt and pepper

warm up a couple tbsp's of butter and another couple of olive oil. when it's hot, throw in the garlic and the cut up mushrooms and sautee them until the garlic is a little brown. then add some salt and pepper, then when it's almost all done add the basil.

then throw it over some cooked pasta and put a bunch of parmesan cheese on it.

sorry i don't do the whole measurement thing lol.
