C'mon Billy, you seemed smarter than that. What scientific basis is there to a horoscope, the idea that interplanetary alignments predict your behavior in life is one of the most nonsensical ideas I have ever heard of. All you did was read an extremely vague synopsis where you felt some agreement and, furthermore, probably wanted to agree with.

Repeated scientific studies have been done on this pseudo-scientific discipline that have resoundingly disproven its efficacy.

For a while people with higher than room-temperature IQs even bought into it. The 90's watched the rise of the American Parapsychological Association, a bunch of pseudo-scientist caught up in the astrology / telepathy / prescience trap, they shut down after they discovered how dumb their ideas were. The CIA even spent $20 million dollars to create psychic spies, what dumbass ever planned that one?

One of the latest studies I read on astrology gave people horoscopes and told them these were for their month, 84% said their horoscope was dead-accurate, it was Charles Manson's horoscope.

One of my friends actually is (was) a fortune-teller (fortune-taker), he explained the techniques to me and I learned a lot from him. It has nothing to do with mystery or being psychic or any shit like that (fyi, Ms. Cleo got arrested for fraud and deception). What effective fortune-telling is about is observation and deduction. You have to be able to read many clues into a person's behavior, you have to give the appearance of authority, which makes the person less likely to question you and more likely to agree with your statements, and you have to continually redirect them with vague statements. I actually apply a lot of his techniques to picking up women and women always think I'm "really perceptive" or "really understand them," maybe, but most of it can be attributed to their naivete.

In short: astrology is bullshit.
