I hadn't seen this girl in about a year and a half. We were just casual acquaintances in class, but we were somewhat friendly, but never really talked. We're friends on Facebook and all that.

A month and a half ago I broke up with someone I'd been seeing for quite a while.

Last week, the girl (who I hadn't seen in a year and a half) came into where I work (Dunkin Donuts when I'm not in class) to get some coffee and a donut. She seemed a little surprised to see me there.

Granted, I'm pretty sure she lives in the same area where I work, maybe 15 minutes away. Now, do you think she purposefully showed up there, or was it just a coincidence? I'm asking because she always seemed very distant. I'm not sure if I should contact her.

I agree it was probably a coincidence (although if she now starts showing up all the time when she hasn't before, that would mean something significant).

So I will give you some typical Cainistic advice (sorry Cain if I get it wrong ) ... who gives a s**t that it was serendipity instead of planned ... her showing up provides you with an opportunity. A point of contact. So "man up" and contact her using your chance meeting as a springboard. Sure, she may reject you, how is that really worse than never trying???

I forgot to mention that my workplace is listed on my Facebook and that she called my cell phone about 15 months ago and left a message asking how I was.

I'm not trying to specifically believe anything, I'm actually very neutral towards her. Mainly I'm just asking out of curiosity.

Are you interested in her? And if you barely talk with this chick, why would you think she has an alternate motive for "appearing" at your job?
