I called my gf a PIG, by mistake... What do I do now?

So I have a great night with my girl, then I sleep at her house and we have a great day. Perfect bliss. At night we go to a movie with her dad and her sister. Her and I have a great time before the movie. We walk around, kiss, hug, etc. Then while we are waiting for some nachos, she comments that I look like the mouse in some new movie coming out, I laugh and then I say JOKINGLY "Hahaha. Well you look like a pig.".

I know, BAAAD MOVE!!! Stupid, stupid move. You don't need to tell me.

The rest of the night she doesn't look at me or touch me or address me, she rejects my call afterward and does not communicate. The silent treatment. So I email her an honest apology with a photo of me and a pig (the photos were very similar and I described the similarities - I was making fun of myself) and leave a nice voicemail. I called her again about an hour ago after work today and she rejected my call again.

What is my next move? I obviously want to make it up to her. I was debating writing a card and dropping it off in her mailbox.

    Is she overweight?

If not, this isn't your fault. She's just a dumb little girl. This is what dumb little girls do. Try to get over it. Maybe she'll come around, maybe she won't. Calling a male a mouse is every bit as insulting as calling a female a pig. Apparently it's okay for her to joke about you but don't you dare return fire.

Yeah, it sucks. I am amazed how girls can be put off with little things like this...

Anyway, reminds me that video about Yucko the clownwhere he said "You are babe!" - Woman goes: "yeah, I am" -Y: "...You know that pig from the movie who got lost in the city?"
    Don't expect anything.

While not a female, let me offer you some advice about dealing with women.

NEVER say anything about how a woman looks, or what she looks like in a derogatory manner ever. Even as a joke. No jokes about her ass, or looking like an animal, or any of that. When it comes to insults, women are like elephants... Er, did I just type that? Whoops.

By elephants I mean they don't forget. They may claim you're forgiven, but when you **** up they'll be there waiting to rattle off the list of every thing you've ever done wrong by her from joking about her ass to that time you purchased her a strawberry milkshake because that's what she told you, but you should have known that she wanted chocolate.

Women basically communicate on a whole different level of subtlety. Her mouse comment was to say you look cute. Most people do not find pigs attractive. In fact, when a common phrase used to be derogatory towards women is "look at that porker..." Well, you dug yourself in deep.

So, take it from me. Ixnay on the you look like a <negative>... EVER. You'll go far on this advice alone. Doesn't matter if she actually has put on weight, she already knows that she has and she wants your assurance that she looks good.
"Well, then," the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."

Like a pig, I'm sure she's gobbling up all the attention you're giving her now.

^^^ yeah, i think the best thing to do would be to go on the attack. Stop apologising. Write her a message along the lines of "you're being a moron. "

    Ahahahaha!

    Snort, laugh, and all that.

Aaaanyway, I suggest you tell her you are sorry for calling her "pig" and she hurt YOUR feelings by calling you "mouse". Then kiss & make up.

If, however, she can't see your side of things as well and can't agree you both did something dumb, then dump her.

Yeah women don't forget that shit easily. Sorry CB and Fras...we're not like guys in that way.

Do you want to know why we're so sensitive about our looks? Because we're relentlessly judged by them from the time we hit puberty. I know men are too, but it's 100 times worse for women.

Yes, it would probably behoove us to be less sensitive about it, but not every woman is this enlightened. As stated, all you can really do is apologize, and tell her it was your insecure, lame attempt at a joke.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I'd let my girlfriend hang if she ever acted like that.

The fact that his GF may be more emotional about being called PIG doesn't negate the need for her to accept that HER behaviour is no better than his. They should both apologize.

Honestly, I don't think he should make her apologize. She's the one that got hurt, not he. Yes, she should be able to take what she dishes out, but if he's going to apologize he shouldn't expect one in return.

    That's not really an apology.

You are right. He shouldn't have to MAKE her apologize.

And I disagree he wasn't hurt by her mouse comment.
