I just finished watching The Shawshank Redemption, so now I understand that "Brooks was here" reference from a Family Guy episode

It was awesome! Amazing performance from Ledger, he totally outshone Christian Bale (and I like Bale as an actor).

Anyway... For me it was Transporter 3 and Saw III. I like the Transporter series.

To each their own, I suppose. It was a typical mindless Hollywood flick, IMO. Nothing special to recommend it, sorry.

Went to see "Bolt". If you have young kids, or like kids movies, its a must.

It was an interesting story, but there were problems with inappropriate accents that I found very distracting. Not as good as Benjamin Button or Doubt.

BTW - I really love movies, but I think every time I see a movie in a theater, I am that much more interested in having a home movie theater. I hate listening to people chomp popcorn, I always get stuck near someone who either smells bad or insists on talking on their phone, too many little kids where they don't belong, the floors are sticky, and I am always hoping whoever sat in the chair before me didn't have lice.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

After that story about the guy who shot that guy in the theaters, I'm afraid to watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button LOL

Just got back from watching Benjamin Button. Part of me says it's good in the sense that I was emotionally drawn into the movie.

Part of me said it was too slow. Imho I think it was overrated. But not bad.

Ha, we just had this conversation (again) this outing. My husband is getting closer to convincing me w/the math (it cost us >$50) and those projectors are really cheap.

In wall/ceiling speakers speakers, 61" HDTV, bluray player...sure beats some sticky, cum covered movie theater with some annoying people that don't know when to shut up.

Seriously, i wonder how much it would cost to do the whole thing - the big screen, the projector, fancy speakers, movie theater seats, and I don't know what else...

A lot...we decided not to do theater seats though.

Speakers. You have two options. In wall/ceiling or satellite.

In wall/ceiling isn't the easiest thing to do. Speakers themselves vary in prices depending on what you want. The more expensive usually means better sound quality. We ran polks all around with an infinity center channel.

The center channel alone was about $350

The thing that's nice about in wall/ceiling. They don't get in the way, looks cleaner, and most people don't see them because they can usually be painted.

Price is also going to depends on if you want to go 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1. Also add in the price of a receiver that can handle the amount of speakers you want.

The TV/Projector + screen is pretty much preference. I prefer LCD's over a projector. Plasmas are a little nicer picture but they're known to not last forever and gradually decline in image quality. LCD is the best option imho. If you have any windows nearby, watching with a projector during the daylight will suck.

    Seating is whatever you want.

Thanks for responding, AJ. Unfortunately, I am not techy enough to understand everything you wrote. I am hoping for a dollar amount, such as $2000 for low-end, 10,000 for high-end. I think I'd want the theater seats, though. They are comfortable enough to sit in for a couple of hours, but not so comfy i'd fall asleep.
