An online insane asylum...runned by the patients.
Yes this forum is full of people who have problems in certain situations... but they also have valuable experience in other situations.
I've read some of the advice given by those that were 'wrong.' However, the other posters make it a point to not only warn the OP that this person is wrong but to demonstrate why - break it down for the OP.
And while one person watches their 'bridges burn' they can at the very least warn another to 'not do the same things I have done.' So this is valuable too.
The only problem with this forum... really... is that you have to look a little harder to find those valuable tidbits of information... often 'reading between the lines' to find it. But I, for one, have learned so much from those that are knowledgeable and even from those that are fooling themselves.
Of all the places I have visited... this forum is by far the most useful because of all the raw information it offers - so many different views to any given scenario. Its a collection of shared experiences that you can filter through and find answers to your questions... and even learn something new - see from a perspective you never though about before... impossible to do in the linear Q/A method.
"The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, and, adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong."
