I'd like to see this guy put his money where his mouth is.

I think he just wants recognition for his homosexuality.

Being gay does not give you an adept understanding of aesthetics. I'm sorry, but it doesn't.

No, not necessarily, being gay doesnt give me an adept understanding of aesthetics, but fashion is my passion and I work in the fashion industry .

Take it easy, Dharm. I'm just joking with you.

I worked in the fashion industry for eight years. I don't think I need the help, but thanks anyway. Carry on.

Now why would you say such a thing? I come here, trying to help these helpless girls out who make countless mistakes. They are sizes 6+ which in my world equals fat. They wear all kinds of things that make them look fatter, they have their nails french manicured, their hair is tore the **** up, and their make up is horrible. when going to an event which requires them to look posh, they go and they wear chandilier earrings, and they pair it with a necklace. Its either or. Either your going to wear the necklace or the earrings. Both at one time = tacky. They pair open toed shoes with the wrong dress. They wear all types of shit that in my world equals the question, "what are you thinking?" They wear black eyeliner. Some of these women have V.P.L. which stands for Visible Panty Lines. Im just trying to help.

A lot of what you just said is overanalyzed, Dharmic (IMO). Most women care only so much about fashion that it is attractive in a respectable way.

Most people are not going to be observing for "VPL" or trying to figure out why they are wearing open toed shoes with the dress they are wearing.

I guess if they want to impress a homosexual male in the fashion industry, they might take your advice into consideration

As for me, I'd prefer a girl with a regular old haircut, no makeup, in a tshirt and sweatpants, to a high maintenance girl who hogs the bathroom. The real fashion is the confidence behind the look.

And you're right, alot of men would probably prefer these types of girls, but to keep it 100% real, thats because they cant get the girl thats all about her style. The diva, the fierce girl, the alpha female the one who walks into a room so gracefully, that the beta girls cant take it.

So there you go, a beta male will be more attracted to a beta female. And beta males far out number those males which exhibit alpha male behavior.

BTW, Im not calling you a beta male, as I do not know you, but the assertions you make lead me to believe that is so.

technically, we can't know if he is more or less qualified to speak on any subject than anyone else here. All you can do is either listen to him or not depending on the soundness of his advice.

Don't be silly. I worked in West Hollywood for years, and I can tell you for sure - the gay guys know a hell of a lot more than the straight guys about fashion.

What I really want you to do, Dharmic, is to advise the MALES about how to dress properly. They usually look worse than the women.

And you are right about the chandelier earrings and the necklace.

Also, flip-flops are for shorts or the beach, not dresses.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

There's some truth to this. I'm pretty b-casual most days, but if I have a big meeting or am presenting & I get do the power dress, my husband starts to chase me around the house and stuff.

Here's an example of what I enjoy, btw:

You are a very cute girl.. Natural, I like it. By normal standards, or even my standards, no you're not fat. You dont have a gut, but you are kind of thick. Im not going to beat around the bush, you are a little bit on the heavy side, but thats just in the fashion world. I see girls size 0-4 all the time, because I have to work with them, anything over a size four in fashion, they call it fat, because you cant fit the sample sizes. But no girl, you are not fat, actually thick, which is sexy to alot of men.

    What the ****?

Well first of all, people don't settle for mediocre unless they are an incompetent piece of shit. That's common sense, but that has nothing to do with this subject because what is 'mediocre' is a subject of debate. From what you've posted in this thread, I would say that you are speaking from personal opinion, because I personally know people who find fat people more attractive than people in shape, contrary to what your own opinion that fat people are unattractive. I also know other people (including myself) who find natural beauty more attractive than caked on makeup and silicone breasts, with a 24 karat gold dress draped over it all.

The reason why I asked what your qualifications are, is because (no offense) being gay does not qualify you. Neither does being in the fashion industry. If you really want to be a good fashion designer, you should probably take into consideration that not everybody is attracted to the same look. Hell, sometimes look doesn't even matter.

The reason why I don't like the fashion industry, is because they sell insecurities, not beauty... kind of like those male enhancement products advertised on the TV all the time. Everybody is always worried about fitting in, and they are willing to buy overpriced clothing in order to impress other people. Think of all the discomfort a person has about that. I genuinely believe that affects a person's confidence, independence, and self-esteem, as well as sex appeal and what not. I think it affects a person to a physical level - the way they walk and talk, and their posture, and other mannerisms. It adds a lot of stress to a lot of people's lives. It's more stress that nobody needs in my opinion.

As far as making people more attractive, I think it's a matter of making them happy with the way they look. If you can make a person happy about the way they look, they will be confident about their appearance. If they are confident about their appearance, they will start making conscious decisions about it, and eventually develop a look for themselves that they are most content with.
