Dear ol' Pectabyte doesn't quite have the lay of the land yet it seems....

Well that is English but that combination of words doesn't make sense...

That one made me grin as well. Plato's in the building.

Obviously he's Guy A since a television show writer wants to make films (why else would he be so specific anyways?), and I bet that the viewpoint on Guy B is skewed so much that I'll pull the pass card on making the lad feel good about himself based on his own input rather than by someone else.
I never said he was a television writer who wanted to make films. I just said he wanted to make films...

I think I'm starting to realize the poor education level of people here and frankly its a bit shocking...

This coming from a guy who can't differentiate "your" from "you're."

The educational system has failed you. Those damn English classes are tricky.

    Deep thought? Oh please.

Guy A: I wouldn't say he's insecure from going to girl to girl. You said it yourself he gets bored. As for him thinking he may become boring, it's a common fear. I would call it a mild insecurity at best.

Guy B: If I'm going to pick a winner for "most insecure," I'd say it's him. If he's fine with being used and thrown out then he obviously has some issues within himself.

I also don't understand the reasoning behind putting so much emphasis on their financial situations. Yes, money can make people insecure, but neither of their issues [one not wanting committment, the other returning to an ex] seems to have anything to do with money.

Either way, you didn't really stimulate my intelligence with either "hypothetical" situation. Both are fairly shallow scenarios I think all of us have heard before-- rich guy who doesn't want to settle down, and pathetic boy who can't let go of his ex. If anything, you trying to make this come off as something "out of our grasp," just made you look bad.

Well, duh!! When you've got the kind of degree you have, Pecta, I can see how everything must sort of seem "poor" in comparison.

    ...What degree was that, again?

Some friendly words of advice: if you prove your intelligence to us, maybe you'll get some respect. If you tell us about your "rich" (?) educational level while flinging flimsy insults at everyone, you'll get scoffed at because ironically, people that understand the value of education don't use theirs as a weapon to put other people down.

Let's not disturb his creative genius that will revolutionize the future of television entertainment! Maybe his intellectual superiority becomes disturbed if aggravated!

It's pretty freakin' obvious that a television writer wants to be a movie writer, unless your aspirations are to write the next 200 episodes of 2 and a half men or some shit. x)

    Guy A:
Has a lot of money and KNOWS how to attract women. He's cocky and funny but knows "the game". He has been in a few relationships, both long term and short term but these days doesn't keep a girl to long either out of boredom or the fear she's getting bored. He also has big dreams and ambitions, I.E. Making films or something of that nature.

    Guy B:
Makes an average living for his age but doesn't have a lot of money or ambition in life. He has had his share of women but is head over heals in love with a woman who has left him a couple times only to ask for him to come back. I.E. "I think we should see other people" when she meets another guy then "I still love you" when that guy stops calling.

For the sake of this exercise lets say they are both really good looking guys.

One thought I want to put fourth is I do believe the answers people reply with will be partially based on gender though I wouldn't make a prediction as to what those replies will be. Thanks for your answers!
Vash, maybe he's not guy number 1. I'm going to be completely neutral.

Guy number 1 sound the more insecure one.

    reasons:

1)Guy number 1 has lots of money and knows how to attract women yet he doesn't keep a women for long because he's afraid that either one of them gets bored.

2)Guy number 1's need to be cocky is also a strong indicator of insecurity

    3) Guy number 2 is not very ambitious and doesn't have much money, yet he is emotionally healthy enough to want a long term relationship.

    4) I'll say Guy number 2 has TOO MUCH confidence. No matter how many times the girl leaves him, he still thinks there's hope the relationship will work.

I just don't get why guy number 1 seems to have everything on his side, yet he's too insecure to commit to a women.
