You know what grinds my gears?

People who dismiss evolution or the Big Bang.

Now, if you've done your research and you have some doubts, that's one thing. Everyone should have doubts. That's the beauty of science that some people don't seem capable of comprehending.

I'm talking about people who have no education and who have never read a book, yet they think it's all a load of malarkey. Because, y'know, those folks with multiple doctorates who have devoted their lives to comprehending the universe are all a bunch of idiots. Don't need no stinkin' edumacation to be smart, right?

    "Science has been wrong before!"

Christ, I want to strangle the life out of those people. Darwin is taking his sweet ****ing time about it.

you mean those crazy evanglical people?

i know what you mean. of course theories of the universe have been wrong. at one time it was thought that the universe revolved around the earth, and that the earth was flat. but until somebody comes up with a better theory that's the one that we go by.

i hate when those christians talk about how god is going to take them from the earth so do whatever you want to it. treat the planet like a piece of shit because god is going to save you from it.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

I hate when people say "it's JUST a theory". So is GRAVITY, dummy! The scientific meaning of the word "theory" is not the same as a guess.

My daughter's bio teacher doesn't believe in evolution or in teaching reproductive cycles to teenagers. I think they should fire her ass.

Ewh. I don't want her grinding my gears. She's actually too skanky even for me.

While I agree with evolution I have yet to look into the Big Bang sufficiently enough to say whether I'd be for or against it.

At the present it seems as though its mainly based from scattered patterns of material and chemicals in space that hint towards it. And of course the same predicament as predicting the future - The further away from the present that you try to find out about, the greater is the margin of error.

I don't find the mumblings of ignorant, slackjawed yokels intelligible at all, Gribble. I suggest you try a little "selective hearing", yourself.

There's far too much evidence supporting evolution to even debate its existence. Look out your window, look at the cars that go by. Look how much cars change each decade. They become more efficient, faster, more powerful, etc. Evolution is no different in essence. Genetics and nature are continuously changing and reworking every living organism to adapt to its given environment on a much larger scale.

Why do you think that bacterial strains are becoming deadlier and deadlier? Because they are adapting and becoming tolerant of antibiotics and other means of fighting them. Theres evolution first hand, its a constant struggle for survival and if you don't keep up you die.

The people who deny evolution are religious fanatics, sorry but it has to be said.

I was watching this show called '17 Kids and Counting' the other day, about this family in Alabama with 17 children (and the mom has another on the way). They home-school all of their children.

They took their kids to a creationism museum. It was a museum trying to teach kids the FACT that dinosaurs and humans lived together, and that the earth was only 6000 years old. They asked one of the kids if they thought what their parents and the museum taught them was accurate, and one of the kids said "I think it's silly that people think the world is billions of years old. It doesn't make sense. The way the bible tells it makes sense." It unnerved me.

It's not really an anti-religious sentiment, more the idea that these kids aren't going to be exposed to alternate theories because they're home-schooled by their parents, and it's breeding a new generation of ignorance.

    Just show them this:

That movie's great. If you didn't live on the other side of the country I totally would swing by your place to watch it. And then get horribly drunk and pass out in your bathroom.
