    Update on Current Events...

I did finally manage to get another roommate... I wasn't too picky with the ad... so I had a woman in her 40's move in. She's more or less the 'hard-worker' type... no real aspirations in life... but pleasant nonetheless. She also paid upfront.. so no complaints thus far.

The manager of the apartment has been real sick for a few days... almost went into a diabetic coma... so she's in the hospital. Karma's real and it's a bitch. Her tendency to not deal with problems at hand and find half-ass solutions finally caught up with her... especially with the way she approached her own health issues. I wish her well... but aside from mild concern, I can't seem to summon more emotion.

I didn't get the job with the moving company... as the boss is in one of his 'dismissive' moods... and had told every applicant he won't be accepting applications for another two weeks --- though he said that two weeks ago according to those who work there. So I talked with a few drivers... just to keep in touch and provide some potential jobs in the future.

Did follow a few other job opportunities.. but those didn't pan out either. Two of them were given to single mothers... three were given to married couples... and four others were given to recovering drug addicts. So, apparently a 'bound and determined' woman with relatively few problems isn't really desired. I wonder if waiting on the street corner in Harry Hines looking for a guy to knock me up would help with my job search?

I've painted a few apartments... so last month's rent is paid up... and part of this month's is paid as well... got a few odd jobs lined up as well that will provide some cash flow.. but nothing stable. Though I do know of another job that will be up for grabs in about three weeks... and I have a friend of mine who has been talking with people he knows... a few of them wanted a resume... which I gladly provided. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

I decided since I haven't anything to lose... I'm at the 'bottom' anyway... I might as well give college another try. The worst they can do is reject me... right? So it's not like it'll be any worse than it is now. I've talked with 3 colleges so far... all of them seemed to be quite interested. I talked with them about the tax problem my ex left me in... they gave me a few numbers to the IRS. I called them... they gave me a physical address to visit. Once I get the documents I need tomorrow... I can fill out some FAFSA forms and have some financial aid set up. Have orientation for one of the colleges tomorrow as well...

If this does work out... I will be taking classes in Accounting... I talked with my boyfriend about this and he joked about the thrills of having a gf who's an 'accountant'.. I told him if I do get a job as an accountant in the future... I could probably sneak him in for some real 'office sex'..

For the time being... between my phone ringing constantly... filling out forms... painting... odd jobs here and there... I have been cleaning the hell out of my car-- waxed it, detailed it, cleaned the engine, carpet cleaned the interior, and repaired some small damages. When I first got it, the poor car hadn't been cleaned in years. Now, everyone that parks next to me suddenly has 'shiny' cars.

I try my best not to think of all things that could go wrong... as I'm doing a rather risky balancing act... All I can do is keep moving forward.

I hope the new room mate is replacing your mother.

Good luck with the job hunting - it must be soooo stressful for you!

Sounds good, though personally I can't see why you would be interested in accounting. So far having an accountant with a master's degree in it as a roommate and attending 3rd-year accounting lectures hasn't nearly made it seem interesting. Robotic.
But yeah, probably pays somewhat well at least.

Okay, so things sound like they're looking a little brighter....good news. Keep up with the job search. Just throw out resumes everywhere you can freakin' imagine, you'll get something.

School would be better though. I'm rooting for school.

I tend to be good with numbers... have an eye for detail... fascinated by seemingly tedius things... and I am incredibly interested in business. Those who know me say I have a knack for business sense... and I should be flat on my face right now... but I haven't even needed a loan to keep myself afloat despite all that has happened.

It's just an idea for now... and subject to change... but I want to study as much about accounting as I can... then move on to administrative duties with a business... then to another attribute of business. Essentially I want to learn everything I can... achieve the highest possible career I can with such knowledge... and when the time seems right --- either start my own business with some money saved... or purchase one that is in fairly decent shape.

I've helped a few people who were self-employed by offering suggestions that made sense to me... and proved valuable to them. I like that feeling, and I love watching how so much seemingly unimportant and unrelated events converge to make or break a business... I also like to plan... nurse such plans along... and watch them come to fruition.

So yeah... believe it or not... I like very, very boring things.

I got a job! Haha... and I didn't need welfare, and mooch off all you Americans on the site

I start on Wednesday... I'll be a supervisor at another apartment complex... so that should certainly provide some much needed 'job satisfaction,' while I wait for something better.

Also... my financial aid went through --- that's right! I'm going to college! In two weeks I start classes. I'm so excited... I have a speech prepared for the following people I'd like to say '**** you' to... ahem... my ex, my mom, various people along the way... etc.

So, I've managed to ride out the storm and actually came out better for once...
