The male is a domestic animal which, if treated with firmness, can be trained to do most things
basically, when i was watching the movie earlier today. it reminded me of Misha a lot. back in the day people used to have respect for themselves, kept their words and true love really existed.
nowadays...all is gone, women have lost their pride and honor, men....well we all know what happened to men.

That book wasn't based on fact, you know.
Both. Seen the movie & read the book. The book is bloody long & drawn out. Noone talks to each other like those letters, lol.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

It never ceases to amaze me how much culture influences people. We live in a materialistic world so we see everything through a filter of products (including people), how much more we can get for less investment and how quickly we can replace what we have with something better. Although there had been a lot of positive changes, somewhere along the line taking responsibility for one's actions has become sidelined.
Watching that in all their different manifestations from a distance sometimes can be quite sickening.
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil
~Born to Live - Mavrik~
I know people have been telling us this since we were little children watching Disney movies, but I finally realized it for myself about 5 years ago:
Movies, books, songs, and fiction of any kind depicting love have NOTHING AT ALL to do with real life or real relationships. There's absolutely no point comparing them.

even though the book was fiction, such relationships were in fact practiced in real life. even one generation before us, our parents, had witnessed a completely different approach. our generation however has simplified everything to accomodate us. i am sure at least one of us has witnessed a couple who actually waited for each other and married happily never to get divorced. my aunt is a perfect example of it. her husband and her both were virgins when they got married and never looked at anyone else. besides that both of them are supremely attractive.

О, полно извинять разврат!
Ужель злодеям щит порфира?
Пусть их глупцы боготворят,
Пусть им звучит другая лира;
Но ты остановись, певец,
Златой венец не твой венец.
Изгнаньем из страны родной
Хвались повсюду как свободой;
Высокой мыслью и душой
Ты рано одарен природой;
