    Did I do too much?

    Ok I'm new. Hi everyone.

A year and half ago I met my parents' foreign exchange student. We got fairly close but she ended up going back to Germany at the end of her experience. We kept in touch (emailed, occasional phone call) and in January last year I got her a ticket to come back to the states for 3 weeks in July (my job requires me to travel a lot, meaning lots of frequent flyer miles). She is extremely excited to come back to see me and the rest of my family that live in the area.

In the course of the last 12 months it became obvious to me that I have more then just normal feelings for her and have started to gently let her know about it. Yesterday was her 19th bday and I got her a big bouquet of flowers via floraqueen.com. She seemed ecstatic.

So the question that goes to the experts of this forum... did I do too much (as in go to far) or am I on the right path. I am not expecting a relationship out of this but rather show her that I have feelings for her and hope some sort of reciprocation (don't we all :-) ).

    Thanks everyone for your time.

PS. If it matters... I'm 24 and she just turned 19. I live on the west coast of the US, she lives in Germany.

Lol. I see what you are doing. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking, but the idiom "hit it and quit it" comes to mind. Let's just say I wouldn't be surprised if the "broken hearts forum" gets some extra activity shortly.

Yeah, this just seems like a doomed relationship. Unless one of you is planning to move close to the other.
