Sorry Lipp, I only just saw this.
Not that I'm much help. I don't know anything about architecture at McGill. You can google, and see if you recognize anyone in the faculty. They are pretty well-known for medicine, medical sciences, but that's all I can tell you. They like to style themselves as Canada's 'Harvard' but really, its overblown. Many other unis (e.g. UBC, U of Toronto, Queens Uni) are now outpacing them. The social climate of Quebec in the 80s & 90s (french separatists) really turned off a lot of young, promising faculty who decided to go elsewhere.
But, the education is first class at those school and the cost is a fraction of what one would pay for a top-tier US school. Unless one is fortunate enough to get a scholarship. But those are rare-to-non existant for professional school.
That said, Montreal is a kick-ass city to live in as a student. Toronto sucks and Vancouver is now 'Hongcouver'.
