asking girlfriend something to much?

Is it too much to ask my girlfriend of 3 months not to get her nose pierced? I only asked, not like I told her she couldn't.

I wouldn't have asked that. When it came up I would've said that I think you look gorgeous without it and don't need anything to accentuate your face. Then if she wanted to get it, that's her choice and I'd deal with it.

That being said, I like certain piercings, nose is one of them.

Asking yes, too much. You should of just explained a few good reasons why not to get one. There is a difference between that and asking her not to.

Agree with the others. You can't tell her what to do. By asking you're pretty much saying you don't approve and telling her not to do it.

The better approach would have been to ask her why she wants one? Talk to her about it, tell her how you feel about it and maybe she'll realize she doesn't really want one that bad.

Ok.. I still don't see how asking "Could you please not get your nose pierced?" is me telling her she can't but if that is how all you see it maybe that is how she saw it...
