    hippieness gone wrong lol.

i have a friend who's always trying to get me to do those sweats and i've always refused because it's already the freakin hot desert why the hell would someone want to go somewhere even more hot? damn crazy hippies.
Purging you body of water like that and at that rate for weight loss or some outlandish religious reason is so horribly bad for your body.

Yes, you can lose weight by sweating, but water is arguably the most important substance for your body. If you want to "cleanse" or lose weight, go run and exercise. There are no magic pills and there is no secret about how to lose weight.

You refuse b/c you are the owner of your own uncommon sense. "Spiritual cleansing" ; yet another example of what happens when you yield your reason to another person.

Is this a Darwin award? I sure hope so.

well you know it was a native american ritual to connect with the earth and be reborn and all that. but then white people got a hold of it and they just don't know what the fuk they're doing. that's just what hippies get for exploiting the cultures of others.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

White people have light/blue eyes b/c they are from cold climates, so not adapted to hot climates. Still, there's something wrong with their common sense. I've never heard of natives saying "shit... lets go get spiritually cleansed sitting nekkid in an igloo for a week & die from hypothermia. Fun!"

This makes me extremely happy. I was worried that because they were minors these vile beasts would be let off easy. Instead, it looks like they'll be right where they belong. I only hope that while in prison for the rest of their wretched lives they get to experience first-hand the same horror and pain as their victims. Sometimes--even in the wimpy US of A--justice is served.

Crap like that really gets to me. Makes me wish I still lived with my mom and my sister. I swear, as long as I drew breath nobody would harm them. I'm all for gun control, but only so long as I still retain access to guns.

I remember when that happened. It was one of the most disturbing stories I ever heard, and while I generally strongly oppose trying children as adults, I can't have any compassion at all for those boys. They are monsters.

Well, if this isn't an example of how morals are taught (or aren't in this case), don't know what is. Talk about a huge parent-FAIL. They should be locked up too, IMO. This is why I'm all for mandatory contraceptive implants until a parenting exam is passed. I hope that younger brother gets taken away from them. Poor kid.

Whipped for wearing a 'deceptive' bra: Hardline Islamists in Somalia publicly flog women in Sharia crackdown

I don't think it was anything to do with hippiness, but with greed. The owner crammed between 55 and 65 people into an air tight dodgy lodge and charged them all 10 grand. Native Americans perform the ritual with no more than 12 people at a time and they don't restrict the air supply like this guy. The owner of the lodge would've made more than half a mil just for that one session, essentially charging people for their death.

The insurgent group Al Shabaab has sent gunmen into the streets of Mogadishu to round up any women who appear to have a firm bust, residents claimed yesterday.
The women are then inspected to see if the firmness is natural, or if it is the result of wearing a bra.
If they are found wearing a bra, they are ordered to remove it and shake their breasts, residents said.
It is wrong for men to see a woman's hair, but perfectly normal to go around inspecting women's breasts for firmness and asking them to remove their bras on command. Perfectly normal and not at all against their own interpretation of Islam.

Not sure if that's the case over there, but in other parts of africa breasts are just seen as mammary glands, rather than the sexual connotations they always have in western cultures.

I don't know for sure, but it seems that if they are concerned about the appearance of breasts, it's because they find them alluring...

In any case, it is cruel to not allow the wearing of bras. Large breasts HURT with no support, despite the efforts of the bra burners in the 60s.

sorry, i didn't see this post till now. but yes, it was pretty greedy. he did it all wrong. not only would the natives not cram people in the tents but you would spend no more than 20 minutes in a round at a time. those people were in there for what, 2 hours or something ridiculous like that.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.
