She was not who i thought she was. I'm going insane

I'll just give a brief of my story.
My girlfriend and I have been having issues on and off for a while. Generally we really love each other, and were doing great. We've been together for 3 years, out of which 1 year bas been long distance. Recently we took a break for a week. She needed the time apart, and I thought it wasnt a bad idea. I was going miserable, so i called her. I wanted to know if she was ALL in, or all out, i just couldnt take the break.
She was crying and she told me there was something she didnt want me to see. She said there are pictures on her facebook, which if i saw, would end our relationship. I told her that her having said that, she'd have more chances of saving the relationship if she gave me her fb pw and let me see those pics. She was crying, and I hung up. She sent me a msg with her fb pw, and i saw the pics.
There are pics of her drinking and grinding with this guy/ dirty dancing, whome she JUST recently met. First of all, my gf isnt a drinker. She says she regrets it, she was crying ALOT, and i was just too mad to hear her out. Told her its over and i hung up, removed her off fb / msn, and everything.
I dont believe that she was UNAWARE of what she was doing. And she certainly is NOT the girl i fell in love with Ive known her for 3 years, and this was VERY shocking to me...
I just need to know WHY she did it. I'm going insane, and I dont know what to do

That being said, I have to say Facebook seems to be the death knell for many a relationship in this era.

When people start young together, they often haven't developed or let all of their personality out. Sounds like she wants to get out there and be young 'n crazy for awhile, have some fun and of course to do that it's better to be single :-)

It hurts, but I don't know if anyone on this board who's over 25 is with their high school sweetheart. Life changes, it's time to start a new phase with someone else.

She's saying she'd do ANYTHING to get me back. She says she was drunk and is disgusted with herself, that she'd do whatever i ask.
She's scaring me. She was crying her ass off, and she said she'd kill herself if I dont get back with her.

She should be crying, she screwed up bad. Kill herself? LOL, she's trying to manipulate you on top of her disrespecting you. You should be doubly insulted. Find a smarter, more grown up girl. Think of it as giving her an opportunity to learn from her mistakes. Mbe she will control herself better with the next guy.

I got a little chuckle out of your phone call, reminds of the time my high school girlfriend and I broke up, I think we were just out of HS then, she pulled up in her grandma's car where my friend and I were hanging out and said if I didn't get in with her she was going to crash it into a telephone pole.
