Yeah it is. I'm actually following/planning on following in all 3 of my parents footsteps.
my mom answers phones (which is what I do now.)
my dad is a cop (which is what I'm gonna be.)
my step-mom was a dispatcher (which is what type of job I'm looking for right now.)

i find it funny that you bring up the big island, yet it's not the main island of hawaii. it does offer more of a country feel though, which is something that you're be more interested in.

I've actually got like 5 or 6 friends that are from Hawaii. I was originally planning on going to school over there but couldn't get in.
there's been so many times that I've made plans to go but they haven't worked out. I've bought plane tickets twice but family emergencies have always come up so I haven't been able to go and I've had to sell the tickets. I'll get there eventually.

and if I do ever move to Hawaii, I'll most likely be living on the big island just for that reason!

basically nothing. well i take it back, it's the only island with an active volcano. other than that, i don't really care for the big island.

Oh, lol, I thought there was some gang or other police related thing. Which is why I was confused. Hawaii was very quiet when we were there. Full or feral cats, actually, that sticks out in my mind.

Volcanoes park, Waipio valley. I thought Oahu beaches (north) were better.

honestly i've never been to the north shores of the big island. i would think that they are about the same, but the big island tends to not be as crowded, so i would think that it's a bit more attractive.

I think its to make fun of foreigners. I heard once that Pad Thai (one of my favourites), just means 'thai food'. Not sure if its true tho.

Oh, mbe its noodles, but something obvious that made me laugh when they told me. Trouble is, you're never quite sure if they are pulling the white persons leg or not when they tell you this stuff.

I know, its like manna from heaven. Weird when you think of the fish head sauce that's used to make it, that it tastes so damned good.
