Saw my X in an unsual circumstances

i saw my x last night...when my/her dog died...i feel so sad that my lil jack passed away last night...we buried him at her parents backyard...i know this is a love forum but i figured this is the 2nd time that my heart broke in pieces...i do have a question for you guys though...i haven't contacted my x till yesterday and i ono maybe its because i saw her but should i try to make it work? i always feel like it can happen if i try i just i don't know get hurt again...

Hey ricerocket,

you're obviously not yet over your ex. Take a little time, focus on something else now. Spend time with friends or family, clean your house, go swimming or jogging. Get the other person out of your mind for a while.

If after all that, you still consider you two could have something nice together, you could try meeting up and doing something together. You can then see how that goes, if you can still talk without it being difficult or uncomfortable.

One step at a time though.. babysteps. First, take care of yourself. Only then, step two.

Stop hanging out with her. no contact. It will only get worse if you stay in contact with her. How do I know this? I know this because I fell into the same trap and it won't get better - you will just get more and more pissed off everytime you see her. Things are never the same after a break up. My two cents.

i completely forgot about this...and yes you guys are right about this whole no contact thing..funny thing about is she started texting me and i finally had the balls to say that if your just trying to be friends i can't do that right now i have to move on for myself. i told her that you know that im not an asshole but right now i have to, im closing this chapter in my life and honestly i took the good out of the whole break up...whatever reason she gave me why we broke up i did it and will continue to do it not because she said so but i know it make me a better person.
