    Just Being Themselves

More of a rant than anything else, but I'm tired of meeting women that are very cute just the way they are, but they ruin it by trying to look like the models in magazines. They slather makeup all over their faces, style their hair in ways that don't suit them, and wear clothes that don't suit them.

When did it become rule #1 that we all have to be super sexy, and can't just be cute and naturally appealing?

Because us girls try to look good to impress men. So whenever men (like my boyfriend for example) have posters of women on their bedroom walls etc it's obvious that they like those women, so we think if we look like that then they will like us. I know it's stupid and I wish we thought differently, but thats just the way it goes lol

Nah, it's not men who are to blame. It's the beauty industry which makes billions on cosmetics.

Most guys I know are like Sheadz and prefer women to look more natural.

We can't deny that men glorify and get off on women who look that way.
They like pornography, the sexy women on tv and in magazines.

Absolutely true! But we also like girls that are totally cute. It's those girls that mess up what god gave them by trying to look like someone they're not.

No problem. But if a woman were to have that some mentality most men would be confused as to what they are attracted to as well.

haha.. Not sure what you mean. Are you saying it's our fault for sending women mixed signals about what we find attractive? If that's the case, then I suppose I agree.

Well I am saying that but I am speaking for the women who think that way. My personal feelings about this... I think those women are boppers, wanna-be's and have low-self esteem.

yeah, I guess the reasons are complex, but I think it is essentially the media and beauty industry that is to blame rather than men. I guess porn and mens mags etc don't help the matter, but I also understand that nice, cool, smart guys are looking for way more than model looks in a girl. Most of the guys I know want a girl who is smart, fun loving and cute, not someone who is overly-obsessed with their appearance.

Well man can create and recreate but it's up to us as individuals to support it or neglect it. No one is forced to do anything but pay taxes. If a man were gawking at every jelly-boobed, plastic cake face barbie doll and then says... oh baby I love you just the way you are... it can sometimes confuse the woman. Don't get it twisted though, advertisers and marketers are great hypnotists and play a major part but I feel as though we should all have some self esteem and self control.

I know what you mean. Following tasteless trends is not only a waste of money but it makes the person uglier.
