Any dumb thing to get back together??

Is there any stories of someone doing something stupidly romantic or just dumb to get back together after time has passed?

A friend of mine told me last night how he met his wife and they broke it off a few times, He says she even hated him because he was a nuisance then after 10 months she went out with him just to get him off her back. She was engaged to someone else and was to tell him. Well they are now married 27 years.

I once stood outside of her house in a trenchcoat holding a boombox over my head... Er wait.

Seriously though, I once flew to Washington DC to be with her with less than 2 hours notice. Probably not one of the smarter things I've done as she dumped me again right after I did this. Years later she did beg me to forgive her and take her back. We're not happily married.
