The thing about procrastination is that it is merely the symptom of a problem. Start to examine what that problem is and you can begin to chip away at it. Don't expect miracles at first, but changing just a little each day becomes a new life 1 year from now, 2 years from now, and so on.

There really isn't any magic solution for procrastination. You just have to stop doing it until you develop a new habit. Try making a list of what needs to be done on a daily basis, and then cross things off as you finish them. Somehow, seeing what you have accomplished gives you a bit of a lift.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Take your shit to the library and study there. Don't take your laptop with you, either.

If you wait 'till the last minute, it will only take a minute

edit: not helping, I know, but this whole topic won't be off much help. YOU need to find a motivation to get going. You don't need us for that
Can someone please explain what is so great about constantly being reminded of that which you cannot have?

My favorite fridge magnet: Hard work often pays off over time, but procrastination always pays off now.

Kie, I used to have a big problem with this. I had to put a lot of structure in place in my life and now it's not really a problem any more. You need routines.

Are you procrastinating (putting things off and delaying acting on things) or ruminating? (turning things over in your mind endlessly without any purpose)
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame

Routines often decay after about a year and a half. At least for me it did, 16 months of 2 hour workouts 7 days a week with awesome results and then boom I stopped working out altogether. I'm now in a state of melancholy and returning to that routine is damn near impossible.

You could get medicated if you have ADD or anxiety and that is what is leading to your procrastination.

Procrastination is just another way to trick our minds from taking risks. Everytime your mind starts to wonder if it is such a good idea..think about the former that I have stated. Know that your mind is trying to trick you ..see how you go.

Procrastination is a habit. The best way to break a habit is to replace with another, healthier one. Find something you really enjoy focusing on and set goals. Once you start up this pattern of thinking in one area of your life, it's easier to apply it to others.
