    Your Best Time

I would preface this by saying that there are always days that are less interesting than others and periods of time that are sad/worrying/depressing/frightening; but generally, my life has had an upward trajectory. Sometimes, the worse times have also been some of the best times in other ways.

My best time and my worst time...a good won out in the end, thank goodness:

1974-1982 and 1984-1986 Certainly, they were the most action-packed years of my life thus far...nearly every day was memorable in some way.

Question: can you identify a period in your life that was particularly memorable (good or bad or both)?

'02 -> '03 - Middle school, Uganda, wonderful living conditions, great school, interesting place, pulled it off well, hardly anything to really worry about
'06 -> '07 - High school years in Sri Lanka, same as above , and the last 6 months working with elephant conservation there, amazing experience.

Best times have always been overseas, where I'm at right now might top it if not for all the stress and problems to solve, but that's life. Hopefully it'll all pick up once my studies are done, unless of course I decide to head elsewhere by then.

2008-2009 - best year hands down. studied abroad in germany, met my gf here, traveled halfway around the world (all the way to middle east) realized i want to be a teacher.

i realized who i was and where i was from, what i want out of life. i had a lot of realizations, like how small the world really is.

The best time of my life was when my babies were young. The worst were my childhood years, up to the age of 14.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Aw. That makes me feel bad for giving my mom a hard time. I wasn't the biggest joy of a little child, either, but at least I was super-cute.

Do you think having grandchildren will top those days?

Worst time was probably freshman year of college. I was very depressed for about a year.
Best time was, I think, this past year abroad. It was a hard time emotionally, but I also had a blast and pushed myself to grow.

It's hard to imagine having grandkids, but I DO love kids. I think it will be nice to be able to love and spoil them without having to be the disciplinarian.

the best time of my life is right now.

i've had a few moments that were bad. 16-20 were terrible. the year a bunch of friends and relatives passed away was pretty bad. that was just a couple years ago.

right now even though i feel like puking all the time and i have serious insomnia going on i am so excited to see the little child rolling around in my belly.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

2005 was a really bad year when i lost close relative, but also good for other reasons
2007 was good as my babies were born
2009 was, and always will be, the worst/darkest year of my life
2010 hasnt got off to a great start, but you know what? Im just thankful i have my son here to share it with..so for that reason, it will be a good year

2008 - Trip to Canada, long awaited reunification with relatives and old childhood friends
2009 - Trip to US, long awaited reunification with more relatives, graduation, new awesome gf - probably best year of my life so far

My best times kind of rose from the ruins of my worst times.

Freshman year of college when I slipped into a deep seated depression for a good year and being cheated on and deceived by someone I cared about immensely.

Learning to harness your emotion and mind was a long road and a strange trip, but it made me a better person. I have a much better understanding of myself and know that it's a big part of making sure the marriage thing is a one time event rather than divorce and remarry.

I'm sure the best time of my life will be the day I become a father.

I guess the last ten years have also been good times. I have achieved nearly all that I wished to achieve in that time in my professional life and in my life with family. I would say that, in that way, it has been the best of times. Conversely, it was a difficult time as I slipped out of contact with society. I see society every day but I am not part of it to any significant degree. Sometimes, that is difficult; but I don't like society very much, so its not been too painful
