Good riddance, hope the bitch won't find peace anywhere.

I hope someone in the UK rounds up a couple of chaps, head over to the airport and tell her to piss off to her "home country", give her a taste of her own medicine :p

Was it the IRS office? That is one job I would *never* do, work for IRS/CCRA. Evil.

A woman in the US state of Maryland has been convicted of murdering two adopted daughters whose bodies she kept in a freezer, moving them from home to home.

The Google employees were accused of breaking Italian law by allowing the video to be posted online.

Has anyone heard of a legal ruling more ridiculous?

Just saw your comment or I would have responded with my opinion earlier, Mish.

Good luck to her. She's been treated like a second class citizen since she became an MP and voiced what traditional Aussies have been too afraid to say out loud. They trumped up false charges and had her incarcerated as a matter of fact. Australia hasn't yet perfected a manner in which to ban free speech although it didn't seem to phase anyone when the Chinese Association of Australia demanded her censor in the later nineties. That's irony in itself, part and parcel to the issues she had voiced.

Oh well... next year Australia will have succeeded in censoring the internet thanks to Chairman Rudd and cohorts. This year we have a ban on smoking cigarettes on Victorian beaches. Westernized nation my arse. Singapore hasn't even gone as far as Australia is heading towards.

Wait a second are you saying you support an ex Australian MP who openly made racist public statements, who stood up in Australian parliament and openly denied that Aboriginal people are disadvantaged in comparison to the rest of Australian population and that she is disgusted that they are being supported? This is someone you admire?

I didn't say that. You said that. You've attempted to taint the discussion. I don't appreciate it.

Aboriginal people receive special status benefits and have for some time despite generally not using them unless it means immediate material gain in the pocket. There have been numerous rorts of them as well. Some groups of aboriginals have done better than others. Yet how many decades can one group of people receive preferential benefits over another without it being racism? This was the basis of her argument. Are we Australians or aren't we?

The same went with immigration. Importing people who can't speak the language and don't have the skills nor inclination to assimilate into the culture creates a babylon of double standards.

She dared to question the inequities and was met with a backlash of hysteria whether Australia could be perceived as a racist nation. Calls to have her disbarred, banned, censored were fueled by the press. Ultimately, she was thrown in jail for trumped up campaign finance allegations. A means to an end.

She dared to question and she was made to suffer for it. Since her early release, nude pictures of her (very well photoshopped) surfaced in the lead up to an election and she finally had enough. She's in the process of her selling her home and moving to the UK to get away from the vultures and cowards.

Australia should be ashamed of itself. Whether you agree with her opinions or not, she was villified and raked over the coals.

These days, Australia even caves to Indian Student mouthpieces and threats when a few robberies happened to international students and militant groups made threats to the Australian Cricket team and the international student industry.

Australia is perceived as an overly apologetic pushover nation who will swallow any bullshit for image, true or not.

I think that's a very simplified and one sided conclusion to what actually happened Doc. There was nothing trumped up about her "campaign finance", she was sentenced for fraud and for deliberately misleading supporters into believing they were members of a political party when they had merely joined a support movement. The court found her party didn't have the 500 members needed to register as a political party and that the registration was obtained by fraud and deception. She was charged with one count of fraud by dishonestly applying the money to herself after setting the fund up to repay the commission and fund her legal expenses. I think with so much evidence you would have to be pretty naive to think that she was setup. I don't think you are that naive Doc, so my question to you is do you advocate what she did? Do you advocate for others to engage in similar practices?

Bypassing the varied degree of opinions on welfare payments, do you really think it was okay for her to lie in Parliament and say that Aboriginal people are not disadvantaged at all?

I advocate that Australia never again immorally use the courts to silence the voice of reason on trumped up charges which you're outrageously such an outspoken supporter of.

Disadvantaged by Australia or disadvantaged by personal choices?

Go ahead and misconstrue it further.

Aboriginal peoples enjoy the access to services no other group of Australians have. Some take it, many others don't.

It's reverse-racism. Bypass all you like. Seems to be the cultural norm these days.

What was that wikipedia link suppose to prove Doc? I think it pretty much supports what I've been saying.

This is from the link you posted:

On 20 August 2003, a jury convicted Hanson and Ettridge of electoral fraud. Hanson was sentenced to three years imprisonment by the District Court of Queensland for claiming that 500 members of the "Pauline Hanson Support Movement" were members of the political organisation "Pauline Hanson's One Nation", in order to register that organisation as a political party and apply for electoral funding. Because the registration was found to be unlawful, Hanson's receipt of electoral funding worth AUD$498,637 resulted in two further convictions for dishonestly obtaining property. After legal troubles in 2000 related to fraudulent registration of the One Nation Party, Hanson was facing bankruptcy. She made an appeal to supporters to give money to help her through her hard times. Shaun Nelson attacked Hanson, saying, "She can afford to live on a $700,000 mansion just outside of Rosewood. The people up here that she's asking to give money to are pensioners and farmers that are doing it tough."

    You missed a bit... lol

On 20 August 2003, a jury convicted Hanson and Ettridge of electoral fraud. Because the registration was found to be unlawful, Hanson's receipt of electoral funding worth AUD$498,637 resulted in two further convictions for dishonestly obtaining property. Hanson's initial reaction to the verdict was - "Rubbish, I'm not guilty. It's a joke."

Prime Minister John Howard said it was "a very long, unconditional sentence" and Bronwyn Bishop MHR said Hanson was a political prisoner, comparing her conviction with Robert Mugabe government's treatment of Zimbabwean opposition.

On 6 November 2003, the Queensland Court of Appeal (comprising Chief Justice P de Jersey, Justice MA McMurdo (President of the Court of Appeal) and Justice JA Davies) quashed Hanson's and Ettridge's convictions.[28] McMurdo J publicly rebuked many politicians including Prime Minister John Howard and Mrs Bronwyn Bishop MHR, whose observations, she said, demonstrated at least "a fundamental misunderstanding of the Rule of Law...[and] an attempt to influence the judicial...process". The Court also ruminated that had the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions been better resourced, "the present difficulty may well have been avoided".

Some criticism was directed at the political interference of Tony Abbott, who had arranged for the lawyers who instituted the legal action which resulted in Hanson going to gaol to act on a largely pro bono basis.[29] Investigations by the ABC's Four Corners programme showed that Abbott had financed disgruntled ex One Nation member Tony Sharples's court case against Hanson, in order to derail the One Nation party.[30]
Abbott paid for someone to search for anything in which to get her to stop talking, and they pounced on a very shakey argument which has still yet to be proven as intentional.

Funny how Abbott didn't go to jail.

All is fair in love and war, eh?

The end justifies the means, huh?

Only in Australia... and other third world dictatorships.

Hey, I'd be happy for Tony Abbott to go to jail, I don't really like the guy. But from my understanding he hasn't broken any laws. While Pauline clearly did, knowingly and intentionally. Honestly, I think you are one of the few people in Australia who feel sorry for her.

Well, I'm sure she'll have a much better time in the UK, there's at least one extreme right wing party that I can think off she'd be perfect for
