I just hate how great things used to be. Ending the one year relationship with the way the break up happened seems so wrong. I just want to make things right, and I guess communicating with her is the only way to settle it in my mind. About a month ago, based on the emails she replied with, she doesn't want to talk with me though.

She doesn't want to be reminded of the hurt that she went through with you. It's selfish because it's what you want and what you need regardless of how it makes her feel.

If she doesn't want to talk to you, there isn't much you can do or say. It's frustrating, it hurts, but it is what is it is. Further pissing her off is not going to make it any more likely for reconciliation in the future. If there was a time to listen to her, it would be now.
