    McNabb to the Redskins

So what do you guys think about McNabb getting traded to the Redskins?

Personally I never really understood why Philly hated him so much....he is a franchise qb...I'm a Colts fan but I do enjoy watching the Eagles and I just don't get the problem they had with him.

And then to trade him within the division to a team like the Redskins that are just a few pieces shy of having a playoff team...one of them being a qb...I mean that is like asking to get your ass handed to you.

The Redskins have the 4th overall pick...if they grab a LT that line should be solid...Portis isn't done yet and they have Johnson now as well...both older guys but they are experienced and McNabb's ability to push the ball down the field will make the safties stay honest deep...the receivers aren't great but McNabb never really had great receivers except for T.O. and then with Jackson showin up as a playmaker.

On defense they have talent in the secondary, a good DT and a pass rusher now in Orakpo (sp?)...they have an older but decent linebacking core.

Honestly if they take the LT with 4th overall and use the rest of their picks to pick up a WR, a young RB and then get depth at the LB and Safety positions then this team should be a contender....Shanahan can coach.

So what do you guys think of this trade? Will the Eagles pay for this?

Some Philly and Skins fans opinions would be appreciated.

I realize this may be the wrong forum to ask this on but surely there are a few football fans on here.

I think McNabb is a great qb but he never seems to have that little extra needed that guys like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have. When you look at how great defensively that Philly team has been, you have to think their next step is to get a top notch qb. They've done all they can do with McNabb so its time they give someone else a chance.

F*ck McNabb, we should've dropped him when he failed to deliver a superbowl.

I have no love for losers in the NFL.

The only guys to throw for more yards and tds over the last 5 seasons are manning, brady and favre....that pretty much makes him the fourth best statistical qb in the nfl...he got the Eagles to the playoffs for like the past 10 years....he could just never get a superbowl win.

I don't get why you would dump a guy who is that close...I mean he is 33...he will prolly play for another 3-5 years unless he gets the favre bug...3-5 years is plenty of time for him to still try and get a ring.

It took manning about 10 years to get his first ring...McNabb is on 11...but you would never hear a Colts fan want to trade Manning...even before he got his ring.

So basically they are getting rid of a guy who is statistically the fourth best qb in the game, got to the playoffs every year and replacing him with a guy who threw for close to 300 yards in 2 games and looked okay....I'm not sayin Kolb is gonna be a flop...I'm just sayin don't fix it if it isn't broken....I mean Eagles fans seem to expect a superbowl victory every year...look at teams like the lions or bucs...their fans are just happy when it seems like their players actually know how to play the game.

I just don't get all the hate for the guy....he is a good qb and if you can't recognize that then you don't really know football or you really can't appreciate the game win or lose....I hate that the Colts lost the superbowl this year but I had fun watching the game...I love the history and the lore of the game and I certainly don't want them to trade Manning cause the team lost.

    THE TEAM LOST...

If you've watched as many Eagles games as I have you'll see McNabb cracks under pressure, and he's injured all the time.

Eagles only got as far as they did this past year because other teams lost.

Shit, they lost to the Cowboys THREE times in one year. Any quarterback that manages that should be fired.

I watch quite a few eagles games...I said in my first post I enjoy watching the Eagles play...and I'm addicted to football so I pretty much spend my weekend watching every game...and sometimes on Thursdays....McNabb was also my qb on my fantasy team so I'm familiar with him.

I actually watched all three of those games...I'll tell you where the problems were in all of those games was with the O-line and not with McNabb...they couldn't block anybody...especially Ware...I mean at least block Ware....I guarantee you Kolb won't have it any easier with Ware rubbin his face in the mud.

Same thing happened in the NFC championship game...Saints buried Favre all day....I don't care how good your qb is...if you can't give him some time to throw the ball you will lose.

I will give you that he was injured a lot...and I guess I can see that to a certain extent...a lot of Colts fans don't like Addai cause he seems to be awfully fragile and he dances a little to much for what most fans like...but I also realize that he wasn't drafted to be a powerhouse runner...he was drafted to catch and block outta the backfield...he is basically a slot receiver they let run the ball....plus I can't blame it all on him when the Colts O-line isn't run blocking.

So I guess what I am getting at is the offense is a unit...and McNabb didn't lose those games by himself....It was also obvious in those games that Brian Dawkins had not been replaced at safety....the Cowboys were exploiting some poor coverage and avoiding poor tackles in the secondary.

Finally what do you mean they lost to the Cowboys three times...like its a bad thing?...The Cowboys are a contending team....I mean it isn't like they lost to the Raiders three times....Eagles and Cowboys games are always fun to watch because you have two teams that are solid and playoff contenders every year...plus the history makes it fun to watch as well....so I don't get where you are knockin the cowboys like they are an awful team...I get you may not like em cause your an Eagles fan but while I don't like the Titans I can admit they are a good team that stumbled some last season but I fully expect will give the Colts fits this season and I fully expect to be entertained.

Of course it's a bad thing. It's embarrassment to lose to a team from Texas. You from Philly, you grow up hating Dallas.

Ever been to Dallas? There's nothing even there to love, it's a shitty as city, if you can even call it that. It's just a hub of highways and stupid cowboy hats.

I don't care if we never get to the superbowl, there's no excuse to not beat Dallas.

Except that they are a good team?...I can't say Indy is a great city...personally I think its pretty much nothing but ghettos and downtown which is basically the stadium and mall with a few restaurants sprinkled in....but the Colts are a great team.

As I said I understand why you wouldn't like them but surely as a fan of the game you can appreciate that they are a good football team....I mean even the Texans are on the verge every year it seems like of being a good football team. I think they have beaten the Colts once in like 12 games since they joined the NFL but the keep getting better every year and the games keep getting closer.

Better example...I hate...I mean loathe the Patriots....but I can't deny they play some good football and I love watching those Colts and Patriots games....I'm never embarrassed with the Colts lose to them....dissapointed but I'm certainly not screaming for anybody to be traded...because they are both great teams and they pretty much trade blows every year.

Then you can't give an unbiased opinion on the game of football if you can't appreciate the game with your team winning or losing.

Dallas is a good team and if you can't admit that then you don't know football.
