i texted my ex the day before yday saying:

hey ,you okay

,

she said:

"hi, yeah not bad, yourself? i wasn't expecting to hear from you..x"

then i replied saying:

"i was a tad immature back then, so hows it goin?"

then like 3 hours later she says:

"its goin alright, and yourself?x"
then i sed its all good, and asked her hows revision going, she sed
"Non-existant unfortuanatley, i have no idea what iv done in the past 2weeks,,,,you?x"

and i just sed haha yeaaa pretty much same, just wound up with art.....she doesnt reply at like 19:00pm

so i feel like i killed the convo so i text her again about matt devine (a singer how she likes) saying:

"so hows matt devine? so incredible

? i heard shits going on with his band...x
this is at 21:00 yday.

she still hasnt replied

iv checked her facebook wall and shes been on since 9:00 yday?....

what should i do?

Back off for awhile...text her again in a few days...if she still doesn't reply...its prolly a sign she doesn't wanta talk to you.

Those two advices up plus some english lessons... If you want to sound mature you need to speak like mature person.
I hate this slang, it's so difficult to read... It's a sea of typos. Terrible...

So you probably loate reading my posts...I use a lot of shorthand abbreviations....this is informal....I'm actually an excellent writer.

Maybe if he's wrote it once or twice, I wouldn't mind...
You know, I or other foreigners, can do typos, grammar mistakes etc. It's normal. It's not our mother tongue. But come the **** on, he's from England. His english should be the cleanest of all...

Actually because you learned the language in most cases you have a better comprehension of the language....most non-native speakers of any language understand the language better because they studied it whereas we just picked it up by hearing it and there are plenty of mistakes that happen in everyday conversation....honestly you probably have a better grammatical understanding of the English language than I have.

But you never use any slang in your native tongue?

I like reading your posts Dewilliams and they don't seem full of textspeak, but I have to admit all the ellipses make them hard to read.

Do the periods look too lonely at the end of your sentences?

I do use but I wouldn't call it a slang. More like few words that are very difficult or impossible to translate.Or if translated, they lost their funny meaning... Anyway, I feel bad if I do grammar mistakes in polish as well. We were learning grammar through all of the schools (Basically 12 years). Yes, we learn grammar AND we read books,write essays etc...

Well I mean so do we but so much of what we learn is from everyday experiences...we spend more time just talking to people than in class...you know what I mean...I certainly wasn't defending his post...I thought it sucked to but I have heard this a lot before on other forums from non-native speakers and that is why...its sort of like how my Spanish is probably in many cases much better than a native speaker simply because I learned it like I would learn math....not just through experiences.

I know I use a lot of them...its just sort of a thing I do when I type in informal settings...its basically an emulation of the way I speak...I tend to speak fairly quick and then slow down at certain breaks...not necessarily where the sentence ends...just where I feel there should be a point of accent...I know its weird and it sounds kinda William Shatner like...its just how I speak though...I'm not as quite over the top as Shatner...its just a comparison.

I guess the best way to explain it is I have a cadence to my speaking and I type in the same manner.

What I mean is... You can use slang with your buddies but at least don't do grammar mistakes like an idiot on a public forum :/
I can't stop myself from thinking that he's less smart just because he was doing so many grammar or spelling mistakes... I know he can do it better. And especially because he's 16 or something, he should learn to speak better, it's for his own sake,unless he wants to become brainless guy who can't find a work just because he's speaking and writing like a dork.

And besides, you native speakers should give us foreigners better examples,you know?We also learn from talking to you and if you will do mistakes,we will learn and repeat those mistakes.And after other native speakrs will accuse us of being stupid just because we spell like dorks
