I use emoticons all the time. I'm not gay.

I am the EgGmAn
I have a more manly word for emoticons... I call them.... smileys.
I'm mainly talking about when you're text messaging a girl you're seeing/trying to get something going with, otherwise I don't give a f-ck.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.
Unless you can express a positive tone in a text, it doesn't hurt to throw in a smile or what have you at the end of your text.
I don't use them here on the forum because I can articulate my attitude, even if it's sarcastic.
Sometimes the only response I need to my g/f's texts can simply be a smile.
This may be a bad example given the circumstances, but the recent texts I have been getting often include a smiley - just a simple one, : - ) and it never comes across as feminine.
Using them is better than sounding like a prig who says "I don't use emoticons". Even the word sounds stuffed.
If you don't know the girl that well and you're joking with her, you might want to throw in a winking smiley just in case.
Sometimes jokes can be seriously misinterpreted in text.

just don't use "tee hee" or "hehe" that's the most feminine thing you could do.
"Tee hee" - (gag)
I know a girl who broke up with a guy because he used the word "pwease" in a text message.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
Nom?
