Okay, so.. Hi. Just have to ask, if a guy says he loves someone and really cares for them but says they don't think they're in the right frame of mind to continue being in a relationship after three months... What does that even mean?

I know there's no one else, but just... I don't know, he's told me not to wait around for him because he's not in the right frame of mind to be with me at the moment, and that if someone else comes along, I should go for it because I can, apparently, do so much better then him...

I don't know what to think. :/

Sure you do. You just don't want to face the fact that you just got dumped for someone else.

Someone else or not....he's blowing you off.

Any guy who truly thinks anything of you, wouldn't want to see you move on and with another guy.

Also this excuse 'You can do better than me'....is a CLASSIC dumping line and a kind way to dump.
He aims to make you feel better, despite the fact he's about to dump/is dumping you.
Also I guess it makes him feel better about dumping you.

Really he's thinking, 'I can do better than you, or I want to see if I can do better than you, which is why I'm dumping you'....

Yeah I agree with the others - he is trying to soften the blow of dumping you with a line like this... A guy that really wants you usually can not stand the thought of you with someone else. The fact that he is texting you everyday etc is probably because you are a habit to him, you probably feed his ego a bit too, who knows, but he has made it pretty clear that he doesn't want a relationship with you, so you need to accept it and move on, find someone who appreciates you.
