So i am getting a new car in August. I'm not sure if i should get an suv or small sporty car? So it's sorta between a toyota rav4 or toyota celica gt. What to do?
Suv would probably be more suitable for roadtrips/camping/friends but i can't help but love the small flashy cars...i'm totally stuck

If you're going to buy a new car, like new new. Get something that will last you for the next 10-20 years.
If you want to buy something flashy, there's plenty of used cars, or maybe you should consider leasing.

I was going to say, new cars are so nice but they lose their value so fast. I'd buy used. Rav 4's are nice. Toyota's seem to last forever sans that whole brake issue they had recently.

I agree...you get more bang for your buck even buying a car 2 years old.
Personally I'm to cheap to buy a new car. What I'm driving now is a 97 Mazda 626. I only have 1400.00 in the car. Its in good shape, 97,000 miles on it....I should mention the reason I got it so cheap was I had to replace the hood, fender, headlight assembly, and bend a little metal. But the wreck it was in didn't blow the bags and the title is still clean...and after I was done I only had 1400.00 in it including a tune-up....even came with new tires.
So it depends on what you are looking for. If you look hard enough deals like that pop up. I bought a 95 Bravada for 100.00 because it didn't run...I changed the spark plugs...sold it for 3200.00. Did the same with a Lumina that needed a fuel injector...paid 100.00 for it and sold it for 1100.00.
I have done this many times....its basically how I pay off my college debt. So many people get rid of their cars because they don't have the ability or desire to fix them.
I say find yourself a good solid car that will get you through the next 5-7 years for around 4,000.00 which really isn't hard to find....then put the rest of your car buying money towards something else...or throw it back in your savings.Completely baffled by a backward indication

toyota or not, my prius has lasted me for 5 years without any issues. great mileage. great torque. spacious enough. what else does a girl need.

Well i'm definitely not getting a brand NEW car that's never been driven, waste of money. I'm thinking a car that's mid 2000's like an 03'-06'. Limit is around 10,000 or a little over. I love small cars but i'm very petite and i see a lot better when i'm in a larger vehicle. The last two car accidents i got in was because i couldn't see and it was dark. Suv's eat up so much gas though i suppose it depends on what kind of suv i get, i live in the northwest so it gets snowy sometimes in the winter and i want a car that isnt gonna give me trouble over a couple inches of snow

haha get a civic... i HATE that car.
however, the best fuel efficient cars imo are toyotas or hondas.
i'm going to get a brand new tsx this year.... when the 11's drop... i can't wait.

yeah i was gonna say that bo should get a 4 runner. those older models are also sexy and you can always sup them up... sound system galore.

I almost got a TSX when I was looking. They are really just a fancier civic when it comes down to it. Slightly bigger engine, but not as quick and can't hold a candle to the SI's handling. Originally Posted by Illusional

You could go for a sport hatchback of some kind as a compromise. I've seen some cute Mazdas and Volkwagons out there.
