Actually, it's extremely easy to change that in the admin control panel of the forums.

If compression is enabled in PM storage, it would literally takes tens of thousands of PMs to reach 1 MB of stored data.

I've ran into this problem to...in fact I was just getting ready to start a thread about this when I saw there was already one going. I mean if it were even bumped up to 1500 it would make a difference. I'm usually only over by a few hundred characters.

I'm not the only one either, most people that pm me have to send multiple messages in order to finish saying what they want to say. It isn't a huge deal but it would be nice...right now it is just sort of an inconvenience.

Understand that sometimes users prefer to converse privately sometimes, and the amount of text that one can post when trying to explain their problem is usually way more than 1000 characters.
