Did I miss a sign or something?

Alright, so I was at a bar and started talking to two attractive girls who seemed pretty interesting. I thought I was doing fairly well. They both kept adjusting their hair and brushing it back and seemed to be pretty into the conversation. They were actually doing most of the talking, usually when I've talked with girls who weren't interested they were very short with the conversation. None of us were drunk or anything. Then all of the sudden one of their girlfriends ran up and said "Lets go to this other bar." Did I miss some sort of sign that they weren't interested or something? They weren't totally trashed and making out with everyone going crazy or anything that would warrant a friend jumping in to interfere. They were just talking to me, and one of their friends came over and apparently tried to run interference. Or am I just reading into it too much?

I assumed girls kept one or two friends to be sober to drive them home and also make sure they don't do anything crazy, but these girls were completely coherent and not just talking, so it kind of made me wonder.

Sounds like they were tryinig to bait you into buying them a drink, and when that didn't pan out, the other chick scoped out a guy who would.

I'll bet the girlfriend who ran up and said "Lets go to this other bar" met some guy where you were who said "Lets go to this other bar." Then she wanted her friends to follow along.

Could have been any of those reasons. Regardless, when girls go out together they generally have a plan to stick together. Doesn't mean they didn't enjoy the conversation with you, but they probably had other things going on that night. You could have just asked her for her number before she left, but I'm guessing you didn't.

Maybe they decided that bar hopping is a lot better than a great conversation.
