I wore the wrong shoes out on Friday. My feet were killing me and I should have run home to put on some comfy shoes but didn't. I have HORRILBE blisters on my big toe and heel. My bf is such a sweetie though and cleaned them and bandaged them for me. I wuv him.

I'm annoyed that someone (my boss) ****ed up a big drawing I did and now there are big chunks missing from the price quote we did. My fault? Hell, no. Blamed on me? Possibly.

Thank you for the compliment. I do read a lot so I guess that really helped. My problem is that I actually do get conscious when I speak with a native English speaker, so sometimes my train of thought stops coordinating with my mouth . Anyway, I've heard that western companies do tend to pay and treat locals a little better as opposed to Asian multinationals who come here.

That is what I have seen in my life. Asians like to degrade other Asians, but they themselves don't like to be looked down upon by westerners. I really can't quite understand why they do such petty things.

If you have made the company more money than they would have without you, then you should make this argument. Particularly if you can demonstrate you have excelled relative to your peers. If not, well, that's how it goes. Japanese corporate structure is a lot different from Western.

The current software that we're supporting including the salary that they've shelled out over the years just for the software is approximately $100,000 (power of cheap labor).
The funny thing about these idiots, is that they don't really see beyond liquid assets. They think that they've shelled out a $100K and they still think they've got the upper hand. That is why they feel that its okay to kick us 3 developers around.

Even if they hold most of the cards, what they don't realize is that we're holding the essential ones:
1. We're using a development language which is not popular here. They'd shit their pants looking for another high caliber developer.

2. If they switch to another software... well... let's just say that SAP would be very happy to drain their pockets for something ridiculously difficult to customize, and would take years to do again, so, not exactly a feasible option.

3. Since a large part of it is being implemented now. The entire manufacturing process would be in jeopardy if we stop fixing the bugs and creating additional modules.
They probably don't realize that because we have such cheap labor here, they decided that this should be their main manufacturing base and if their manufacturing schedules goes crazy, then there's nothing to sell either.

The problem here is that, we're still running parallel with the old system. They still could shift back to the old ways if we 'attack' now. We're still looking for the right time to strike back where it would really hurt should we decide to bail.

It's probably not worth it. The best way to get a promotion as they say is to find another job.

SO they're practically paying me to do virtually nothing. I spend my time researching and improving my skills which is of use for my future endeavors, but not for them. PMS is knocking on my door. Irritation grows in my head,now that my bfs friend is here already since 2 days and he's going to stay here another 2 weeks...He's a nice guy, normally I wouldn't pay such big attention to those little things but I'm sometimes boiling inside ... His bad english + typical french accent makes me get mad, but I keep it all in my head. Second, we have just one bedroom so we put an airbed for him in living room which means for the next 2 weeks I'm going to live in a pig farm. third: he smells and no,my nose is not getting used to it after 5 mins ... oh man...
And my bf keeps on pissing me off , he complains about my eating habbits and other stuff. it's like - man , can't you just wait like few days ... I'm short before exploding...
