Heard it before but...How do i let her down gently?

To keep a long story short. How do i let down a girl that has a very low self-esteem? She thinks shes soo ugly. And i dont want to make her feel any worse about herself then she already does.

First of all, you're not responsible for how she feels about herself.

The best thing you can do is simply be honest. "I don't think this will work because we're not emotionally compatible." Or whatever.

you can't stay with people to avoid a crashing self-esteem, it's not right and not fair on you. don't overthink it just do it. you'll both have to take it as it comes. she may come out the other side realizing that she's stronger and can be independant.

Just be a man and tell her. There's no such thing as "gently". It's going to hurt her, if you want to do it just do it.

Just be honest with her. Tell her it's not working out. You're obviously not an ignorant or cruel guy if you are worrying about hurting her feelings etc so just do what you have to do.
As mentioned above, it's going to hurt regardless.
