We were texting back and forth and he said that he needed someone to be around. Someone to go out on a date with. Now I'm worried that he doesn't like me that much. What do you guys think?

Well, I've known him in high school. But I havn't talked to him in 3 years. He just came back into my life reacently. He texts me every night, we have long conversations. I have a friend that says that he's looking for something steady, but I must of misunderstood because I took it as: dont get too close to me. What do you think he means.

90% sure that was his round-about way of asking you out. He was afraid of rejection, so he put out the subject and hoped you would suggest something. It actually accomplished his first goal - he didn't get rejected. However, he didn't get the date either.
10% possible he's not interested in you, doesn't have a clue you are interested in him, and was asking if you knew anyone who might be interested in him.
