    Music-Loving girl

    Hi.

I've been into this girl for 1.5 years. We're both big music fans. But from what I've seen, she mostly dates guys in rock bands. As I'm not about to learn how to sing or play an instrument any time soon, and I'm usually terrible at flirting (very dorkish and heavy-handed or waiting for a sign that never comes), what do you suggest I do to at least give it a try, but not in a way that I come off it thinking it's obvious that she turned me down? Thank you.

That's your problem right there FEAR and lack of confidence. If she hasn't noticed you in that way by now, she isn't interested. Think about it. It's not just the fact they play in a band. Look at what they do image wise. They are performing in front of a crowd, boldly rockin, showing confidence, standing out, interacting with the fans. It's all very exciting to a girl and an ego boost. She can tell her friends "I'm dating the lead singer to ......" She has her head so far up her ass she can't see any other potential BF. It's a waste of time.

Anyways girls like to be chased. You come off as weak, so that's why there are no signals. Sorry but this is something you really have to work on for yourself. Go out with a buddy, have a few beers and just start talking to girls. It takes time but you need to develop some skills and it takes practice.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought.

But I have done what you told me to. I have attempted to talk to girls when I go out. But there's noone really around to tell me "THIS is what you're doing wrong!" when they act disinterested or disdainful. So...how can I learn?
