Is long distance really that bad?

There is no right or wrong answer to whether or not long distance relationships work -- it's all a matter of personal experience and opinion and nothing more. I believe if a LDR doesn't work, it's not because of the distance: it's the people - you just aren't meant to be. Sure it's easier to be with partner, living together in the same city but life doesn't always work out like that. If you are committed to your partner, it can work -- as long as there is an end in sight, ie you know it will only be a year, and you always have that next plane ticket for when you will see each other again.

LDRs do not work. I worked in another country during 2007 leaving my OH of 4 years in another country. I saw her once a month. And it was shite. If people believe that they can suddenly really 'get on' with somebody that they have never actually physically met and then have serious relationship then quite frankly they are deluded. And the idea of falling in love online - jeez - get a ****ing life

Do you have to be rude? Anyway, I mentioned in my original post that we have met multiple times, and have plans to meet in a few weeks.
