I second the counseling suggestion. That is not to mean something is wrong with you, per se, but you have been injured emotionally by your ex and you need to find your way back to trusting another person again. Give you current partner some space and just let her know that you understand that you have to work some things out in your mind so that she won't be bothered by previous baggage again and that you are seeking help to do just that. Because you care about her and your relationship with her. And continue to apologize. Good luck.
