I've been away for a couple of weeks working abroad. Is telling my girlfriend that im coming home on saturday but actually coming back on friday and surprising her a good idea? I've been told before that this isn't a good idea, but i can't see why. Everyone likes good surprises right?

She is also quite looking forward to picking me up from the airport but if i come home a day early she wouldn't be able too anyway. Also i'm still completely confused as to how women's brains work so maybe she wouldn't like the fact I've lied to her...? i don't know.

Your friends who are worried about you surprising her are probably more concerned that she might surprise YOU, possibly with another boyfriend in the house.

Did you have a change of a plan or do you want to pretend that it'll be on Saturday? In the 1st case it would be a good suprise even if you just tell beforehand.

It's hard to tell without knowing her. Try to think if she can get it wrong? For example, she could feel like you are testing her. Or maybe she's the one who likes plans and having info. Or she wouldn't like the secret/lying part of such suprise.
