Lol, I like this thread but unfortunately I don't think I should respond being that I tend to get extremely offensive due to my unparalleled hatred towards todays popular culture. If anyone really wants to hear my thoughts and won't be offended I'll express them. But only with permission.

    Go ahead, I'm already curious.
As to the question, doesnt it have to do something with the church choir? Don't get me wrong, but I always associate black people with a black choir. Sure enough in a church. And in church everyone calls each other brother and sister. haha. I have really lame thoughts today, the idiocy of my own comment is just killing me.
I have it all. Including kino.

i think it's more related to the fact that black people came together on the slave ships and they could only bond with each other. i might be wrong on this but i think it fits the picture. it's like that here in hawaii too. the hawaiians feel that they land was stolen from them from the white foreigners, and they bond together by referring to eachother as their family. well mostly other hawaiian people. raverboy

Well personally I hate American popular culture where it's cool to be black and yet all that means is dumbing down words or adding lame sounding suffixes. "I gots to axe you somethin fo sheezy." Just sounds retarded and it really makes me mad because ignorance is what will always, without fail, set me off. "Brother" just seems like something else to say besides "dude","man", or "buddy". But it's association with such a dumb mindset leads me to feel disgusted by it as well.
