A lack of parental approval, so I think

NOTE: There's no solid confirmation that I'm right on this topic. This is all just speculation.

I've been in a relationship for quite some time now with another girl. We're both really happy, too.

One time, I was with her at her parents' house and I noticed neither of her parents really took a liking to me. This, as conceited as it sounds, surprised me seeing as every other friend's parents really liked me. This is the first set of parents that hasn't liked me.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I don't think they knew their daughter was into other girls before I came along, I don't know if it's my personality, or any other things. I also don't know if I should just ignore her parents' thoughts and try to sweep it under my mental rug. Of course, I'm not giving up on the relationship I've been chasing for a long time just because I think her parents are displeased with me.

In the end, I'm really wondering if I'm wrong and they DO like me, or if I'm making a big deal out of nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Parental approval isn't trivial, at least not if you care about this girl, and intend to have a long-term relationship.

I'd agree, it doesn't hurt to ask. I've asked if my MIL liked me, he actaully said "she doesn't like that you can't cook" Ouch.

So yeah ask... It's what you and she do about it that matters.
