    The Road

    Anyone see this movie?

I still feel shaken after watching it last night.

Nope, haven't seen the film. Read the book though, before the film came along. Wasn't as world shaking as I thought it'd be.. I have read a lot, and usually enjoy post-apocalyptic stories, but this was just a bit boring, I know people adore this book.. but to me it just seemed bleak (and not in a way that impresses me)..

I have seen bits from the film, and I love Viggo, but have not yet felt the need to watch it.

He starved himself for the film and it really shows.

I too normally enjoy post-apocalyptic stories, but I didn't enjoy this movie. About 95% of the time while watching, I was required to think about starvation, cannibalism, rape and death. After the first 10 minutes, I kept the remote in hand, ready to shut the movie off if it got any more unbearable. By the second half, the movie either got better or I became numb, so I got all the way through it. Still, it will be a cold day in hell before I watch The Road again.
Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.

    That's why I liked it.

    So incredibly dark and bleak.

Nothing glorified about that "what if" scenario.

Great movie with a realistic vision.

But very depressing and gloomy. I needed some pick-me-up after I saw it.

I saw it, yes very depressing movie. Basically the worst case scenario of a post apocalyptic world where some humans actually survive. I did enjoy it, but it sure strikes some fear into your heart if you have any survivalist in you!

I saw it a little while ago, I was pleased to finally see a apocalyptic film that's actually realistic. Usually these scenarios are just dumb action films x.x but not this one :3

I saw it when it was fairly new. Very depressing but realistic. I had to watch a comedy after it was over so I could stop thinking about it though! Scary...

I've only read the book and I found it pretty lame. It's very repetitive and it seems like McCarthy was simply trying to pen the most heart-wrenching scenes in order to fool his audience into feeling 'moved'. It just felt a bit cheesy to me.

I watched the movie and couldn't stop thinking that this is a world where Jeffrey Dahmer would thrive in
