Does he sound like a guy who is interested in me? Or is he just a player?

So, there is this guy, we're are in the same association in University, and we meet in a group every week. Sometimes, he asks people in the group (they are mostly girls), hey, don't you think -my name- looks hot when she's wearing this top? He also always sits besides me, and keeps touching and looking at me. He also gives me a lot of hugs and he kisses me on the cheeks, and says that I am cute in front of everybody.

Now, this guy is very touchy feely with other girls too, but I have never seen him do what (and as much as) he does to me to other girls.

What do you think? Is he a player, or does he like me? His roommate told me that he said he liked me, but it's been like 2 months already.
Do you think he's gonna ask me out anytime soon? What should I do? I am always friendly to him, but I don't wanna seem too forward.

To be honest, I'm thinking he's not interested that way.

If he's as forward as to kiss you on the cheek and touch you??....then IMO he'd be forward enough and to ask you on a date if he was defo interested that way.

In certain cultures: kissing on the cheek can be done to say hello or goodbye, but this is usually done to people they've already known for a while...

Why does he need to ask you out? If he's doing this with everyone, coupled to the fact the it's been 2 months: chances are he's not a player...
Just very very friendly (a flirt) with girls. I think a guy who is too touchy feely and who doesn't take action is shady.
