Flirting with the neighbour

I recently moved and my attractive and very pleasant neighbour introduced himself, saying I could ask him if I need anything. Now I'm thinking of something I need as an excuse to speak to him again. Any ideas of how I could approach him with perhaps, a subtle invite out for a drink?

Could always just use his own words. Unplug the cable from your TV and ask him for help moving it so you can fix it, offer a beer and a 5 minute conversation for the help and let him go. Let it take off from there.

There are simpler ways: for instance, you could use your lack of knowledge of the local area as an excuse and invite him over for a coffee for hints on restaurants, bars and other amenities. Then, if he seems interested, you could propose that you try one of these restaurants together at some point. This way you enjoy a double benefit: even if he is not interested, at least you will get some useful information.

Better be careful about romancing the neighbor... if things go bad, you will still have to look at him every day... AND the women he dates.
