What should I expect from a '2nd love'

Around 4 months ago my year long relationship with my '1st love' ended.

At the moment I'm not really sure if I'm going to be able to have a strong connection with someone new or if I'll want to put in as much effort as I did the first time round.

I realise that this time I'm going to be a lot smarter in regards to relationships as I now have experience. This might make the new relationship more fulfilling but I don't want to get into a new relationship when I might hurt the said person as my feelings might not be as strong which might lead me to feel like its not really love (If that makes sense).

Your "2nd" love and "3rd" love and all of them beyond that will be different than the first. And different from each other. Any relationship with someone is about a combination of you and the other person.
It does no good to try to measure the strength of your loves for comparison purposes. It will only serve to make you crazy.

It is good that you realize enough that you should wait a bit before jumping into something else. But don't let that turn into forever for you.
