He likes me, why does he never invite me out?

I have currently what is a friend, whom I have known for a year. We talk and text all the time. I know for a fact the he likes me and he knows I like him. When we spend time together he is a gentleman but always compliments me, tells me how great he thinks i am and all that, and we kiss at the end of the night. this is all fine with me. I like how it just feels like we are taking our time and not rushing things. The problem is that he is never the one to initiate spending time together. He doesnt ever ask to see me or invite me over. I always end up asking or offering to meet up. Why wont he ask or offer? Does this say something about him not being as interested as he says or acts when we are together? And I know its not a sex thing cause we both know we want that too, but he always remains a gentleman. What can I do?

Pull away and make him come to you.

^ yep. Slow down on contact and see what he does. He'll either start initiating conversation or hanging out, or he'll just not talk to you. If he doesnt talk then you know hes not as interested as he lets on.

Talk to him more and bring up the real issues. Tell him what's bothering you deep down. Don't hide your emotions.
