Is an academic sexy?

I find smart girls attractive, and I definitely value someone's education. With that said, there seem to be also some social stigma against academia. So... is advanced education and academic career an attractive trait in guys? or does it depend on the field? the degree? or is it something you don't think contributes, or even is a negative aspect? maybe certain "ivy tower" attitude that is a turn off even?

A guy with an education doesn't say much. His parents could have paid for him the whole way through and he could care less about advancing himself, while the "uneducated" guy moving freight at home depot has serious work ethic and tries to earn money to put himself through college. Having a degree doesn't scream that the person is a genius, even in the field they graduated from!

You have to talk to people and get to know them, what they do with their money, how they enjoy their free time and what there goals are. A guy that advances himself to meet his future career goals, a guy that thinks beyond what he reads in books and hears from the media, a guy with integrity and an open mind, THAT'S ATTRACTIVE!

You can't assume all people in school have taken the initiative to improve themselves, though the ones that have are more attractive in a way.
