Confused about a guy I used to like... and still miss.

I graduated from high school almost 3 years ago. During high school, I had a really good guy friend whom I was also crazy about. He had friends, but he didn't talk to them as much as he talked to me. We flirted too... He would kick my feet under the table, tease me, joke with me, catch up with me in the halls, push/wrestle me in the halls, grab my hand etc.
Anyway, during our senior year he stopped talking to me as much. We still talked & laughed, but it was different and we were distant... It got so bad we would go for a whole week w/o talking... and I didn't even get to see him after graduation - never said goodbye or wish him good luck in college.

Well I have a boyfriend of a year now whom I love, but sometimes I still miss my old friend so much!! Just miss his jokes, his personality... I miss him!

His birthday is coming up and I thought I'd send him an email... should I do it?
If I have a boyfriend, why do I also miss him so much?

Idk, sometimes I want to see him again, at least talk to him. Closure would be nice...

Go ahead and contact him but tell your boyfriend what you just told us first and give him the opportunity to leave you or stay with you and compete with a memory. Or: You could just stop the fantasy you have playing in your head about this guy that simply showed you a bit of attention but never thought enough about you to actually ask you out. Your call.
