    The Year of the Dragon

I would really appreciate all ideas for my new year's celebration. I was told last night that I'd be hosting a party and now I need for a theme that has to do with dragons.
It's going to be a year of the black dragon so I was thinking of having everyone dressed in black. My last party was black and white though and everyone dressed the theme and it looked really adorable.

Go to Chinatown to buy your decorations! You can take the metrolink, and it drops you right across the street!
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

And Chinese food, of course! Guests could wear red/gold/black (I think red and gold are traditional NY colors). You can buy one of those Chinese dresses with the high necks because you are little.

LOL. Oh well, I will probably not do anything special, I need to take a train on the next day at 1pm from Brussels , so I need to wake up not too late . Who cares... Somehow the New Year's Eve became so unspecial to me those last years. I can have a good party on other days as well and it would costs less

Sushi is Japanese! Do the Japanese observe the Chinese New Year?

This sounds like a fun theme, Sonrisa.... since you live so close, I would invite myself to come if I weren't working new year's eve AND new year's day.

Buy a tray of dry fruit and seeds like this: dry fruit 2.jpg

    and some red pocket candy

I don't know if you should have everyone wear black. Isn't black a funeral color?

Red and gold are usually the traditional "lucky" colors.

Edit: Ya..don't bring sushi. Don't bring anything to do with the Japanese. LOL
