Funny....all he does is let the dog know who's boss....makes total sense. I watch my mom use some of the methods, and she can't believe how much her crazy ass dog has settled down. You have to spend a lot of time with your dog and repeat lessons, it's a no brainer.....the biggest mistake people do is treat the dog like a child, so they end up getting away with everything. You are actually training yourself in how you treat your dog.
So it's not so horrible for everyone....do what you are most comfortable with and what works best for you and your schedule.
He works on the "pack mentality" theory, where your dog should see you as pack leader. Its a load of crap, dogs know we are not dogs! he bullies the dogs into doing what he wants, uses electric shock collars, physical punishments etc etc. As someone who runs training days and seminars teaching some of the top sports dog handlers in the country/world, I find my positive reinforcement methods work. Anyone who uses otherwise is living in the dark ages (as th US are in dog training).
